Pastor rapes 12-year-old girl - jonathmania

The Edo state police have arrested a pastor who allegedly raped a 12-year-old choir member of his church at Afuda-Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of the state.

The incident incurred the wrath of some residents around the area, who destroyed some church equipment, while the pastor was detained at the Uromi Police Divisional headquarters.

Narrating her ordeal, the victim (who cannot be named for legal reasons) said she had gone to church for choir rehearsals when the incident occurred.

She said she and three other children were in the church, awaiting the arrival of other members, when the pastor and founder of the church drove into the premises in his Mercedes Benz car, and started enquiring about their names.

She said after they had given their names, the pastor called her into his office and asked her to sit on his laps.

While on his laps, the victim alleged that the pastor began to suck her breast and dipped his finger into her private part.

She added that she felt severe pains in her stomach, and consequently struggled to regain her freedom.

The incident, she alleged, also caused her to bleed as a result of the injuries she sustained.

The father of the victim said that he and his family became members of the church barely two months ago.

He noted with regret that joining the church had caused him pain, because he never expected that his daughter could undergo such unfortunate experience.

He appealed to government and the police to ensure that justice was done in the case to serve as a deterrent to other randy pastors.

He alleged that the suspect, who told him he was merely carrying out deliverance on his daughter, was arrested and later released on bail by the police.

The Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Esan North East Local Government Area chapter, Rev.

Francis Okhai, confirmed that the matter had been reported to the PFN, to which the alleged rapist pastor belongs.

He said several cases of misconduct had earlier been reported against the pastor, but that it was the first time that allegation of rape was reported.

Okhai added that disciplinary action would be taken against the pastor if found wanting "in the abominable act, because the PFN does not condone any misconduct from its members".

He said the pastor had, however, denied the allegation when questioned by some PFN officials.

The Police numbering four had reportedly stormed the residence of Oniya in Akure to search his house upon report of his alleged involvement in a robbery operation in Akungba Akoko.

Atiku Is 65% Sure Of Winning APC Ticket- Campaign DG - Politics - jonathmania

Director-General, Atiku Campaign Organisation, Prof. Babalola Borishade, in an interaction with editors in Lagos spoke on the plans and preparations of the Atiku campaign for tomorrow’s convention. Excerpts:

By Emmanuel Aziken, Political Editor

HOW far have you gone about winning this election?

We have visited 35 states of the federation basically on two reasons, to strengthen the party structure and to tell the delegates that we are interested.

People have been asking us why we are not interested in consensus candidate and our reason is that there is no better consensus that the decision of more than 7000 delegates.

Should we lose the election, we will have no option but to remain in the party and work for the party.

Do you see your principal, winning the APC presidential primary?

To be realistic, I believe that we have 65 – 70 per cent chances of winning. I got my last briefing about an hour ago (at about 9.00 a.m. Monday) and the beauty of it is that our momentum is growing, there is no state we are in control before now that has been taken away from us but we have been encroaching into states that we were not in control before.

Actualising the objective

So conservatively, I will say we have between 65 and 75 chances.

You spoke as a politician, always optimistic, maintaining that your principal will remain in APC regardless of the outcome of the primary, will you be faithful to that?

I have told you that we have two objectives, one was to create a strong alternative choice of a party and that is already under our belt.

APC is now strong enough to challenge PDP.

So, half of our objective has been achieved.

Having actualised that objective, we are not going anywhere. We are going to stay-put and support whoever emerges from this primary.

This is because you can’t get what you want and join what you hate.

On what condition will you leave the party? There is no condition.

If w had thought of any condition under which we won’t accept, we wouldn’t have signed.

Even if the process is fraud

I want to believe all will go well because, we have gotten to the process and have been screened and agreed with them on the delegates so, we will go to the convention centre, unless we go there that day and they say there is no voting.

Bad area in Lagos that we need to avoid, Teniayo Martins

From Naija News

After an uninterrupted 11-year stay in Spain, Teniayo Martins visited Nigeria, and gamely offered to stay with her senior sister, Busola, in the two rooms that she lived in a public yard in the slums of Ijesha, Surulere, Lagos.

“Even before I came back, I knew it wouldn’t be easy staying in such a place, but I wanted to spend time with my only sister and not go and waste money in some hotel,” she said.

“I wanted to show her that my love for her is greater than whatever discomfort I might face in living there.”

Ms. Martins bravely endured the living conditions of tenants of the building for two days; woke up to find rashes all over her body on the third day; and fled to a nearby hotel.

The massively growing population of the city and its attendant effect on the astronomical rent rates have resulted in the large number of slums that dot the metropolis.

The buildings in these slums are usually constructed in such a manner that as many single rooms as possible are crammed into a building, often with a single toilet and bathroom.

Some of these buildings have no kitchens, and tenants cook inside their living rooms in some cases.

For one to be able to afford living in at least a three-bedroom flat, that person definitely needs to earn a decent wage in this city.”

Tenants of such living quarters have
devised ingenious means of adjusting to the harsh conditions of living in these public yards.

Some of them have gone to extreme lengths to preserve their sanity.

Celebrity Relationships Do Not Work For This One Reason - jonathmania

In this week's Monday Musings, Pulse.ng's Music Editor, explains the the basic underlying truth behind celebrity breakups and divorce.

Plenty of times we are quick to get out of the blocks with accusation and condemnation when we read stories of another failed celebrity marriage.

We treat every single breakup as an isolated case, dwelling on the specifics and taking sides while we watch on with immense fascination.

Ini Edo breaks up with her husband, and we are in gossip heaven.

Tiwa Savage goes through a lot of friction in her marriage to Tee Billz, and we fall over ourselves watching in guilty delight and contributing with our comments and displaced analysis.

We are wrong on that score. And we have failed to truly understand the workings of celebrity marriages, and what ultimately makes it brittle.

What is simply needed is a push through the surface to the basic underlying principle behind these marriages.

Only with that can we understand the basic truth behind the unsteady union involving celebrities.

Here’s the truth. Relationships are built to be real.

Celebrities are conditioned to be fake.

You cannot take fake people, bind them in a real union, and expect the forces and dynamics of human relationship to be in balance. Fake people in real situations cannot be made to exist and operate in tandem.

The entertainment world is all based on simulation. None of what you see is real.

Everything is calculated and crafted and delivered specifically to create an effect of glamour, glitter and show. People who operate in these circles are expected by society to be larger than life, and to achieve this, they slowly erode their humanity.

Marriages and the profession of love are sacred unions and commitments that are fundamental in the cycle of life.

Nature hangs on the balance between death and creation, which is ultimately what marriage leads to; the beginning of new life. It is real, it is sane, and it is natural.

Entertainment and nature cannot be mixed in their true form. The bond will be one of uneven attraction, and so, will not hold true. Reality begets reality. Simulation begets simulation.

This underlying fact forms the base of all celebrity breakups. Very few succeed in the union, and that is because both parties walked down the road of true self-discovery and sincerity to create a life that is real and unique.

Another reason why some of them last the distance is because the entertainers themselves are real in their craft.

Joke Silva and Olu Jacobs are true to their craft.

They are personified by the roles they play in a great part of their Nollywood movies, and that is ultimately the reason for their success in life and marriage.

They are a dying breed, the last of a thin line of sincere entertainers.

But for the rest of them, mixing nature and entertainment is an effort at futility, no matter the feelings and promises. Time breaks it all.
